OverallDevelopment didn't start in a boardroom. It started in a living room — with a 10-year-old kid lifting sand-filled plastic weights, alone, in the middle of a Chicago summer.
Angel's uncle had gotten locked up. The summer stretched out endlessly. There was no money for camps or museums. So Angel did what he could with what he had: he picked up the weights his aunt had bought and started lifting.
That summer rewired him. By fourth grade he had a six-pack. By high school he was self-taught. By his twenties he was a serious bodybuilder — making his own food because nothing on the shelves was clean enough for what his body needed.
The discipline never stopped. But the story isn't really about Angel.
It's about a promise.

Before there was a brand. Before there were four logos. Before there was a facility on Argyle.
Angel was hustling on the side, stressed, stretched thin — asking himself whether this was what he was meant for.
He made a pact in that moment:

It worked. And he kept his word.

ONE ROOM.
ONE MISSION.
The first version of OverallDevelopment was a single room. Angel trained clients there, made their food there, and massaged them in his bedroom when they needed recovery.
His first paid client was Adolfo — a grammar school friend he ran into at the gym after years apart. The next was E — a friend who walked in on a cane, dropped weight, transformed, and eventually became Angel's first trainer.
Angel never charged him to learn.

That's real talk.
Twenty years later, the ecosystem looks different. Four brands. A real facility. A team of trainers and specialists. But the model hasn't changed: train one person at a time. Take care of them like family. Build until they're transformed.

A client once asked for a muffin she could eat for breakfast. So Angel made one. That's how the bakery line started.
Store-bought shake mix had soy in it. So Angel built his own from scratch — using cacao, chia, banana, real ingredients his Mexican mom would recognize from the licuados she made him every morning growing up.
